Windi Apriani is Bandung-based artist. She graduated from Bandung Institute of Technology in 2010. Windi continues to work intensely on paintingdrawing works using ballpoint pen on the canvas surface. She has been running a series of exhibition programs, some of which emphasize her position in the constellation of our art today
Apriani’s artwork emphasizes realistic methods— carrying a resemblance to whatever is referenced. Her medium is ballpoint pen on canvas. Her main technique used is amassing extremely meticulous cross-hatching lines/shading. For Apriani, lines are a media to express experience, contemplation as well as sensitivity to the object. Still, Apriani’s artwork is not just about representation; it is intertwined with reality and hopes, the present and the past in a frame of perception.
