ART JAKARTA GARDEN 2022
Art Jakarta is coming back this year with a fresh and innovative concept; —Art Jakarta Gardens— a fair that seamlessly integrates art in both an outdoor as well as indoor context, with Credit Suisse as our Lead Partner. Rachel Gallery was taking part in Art Jakarta Garden 2022 from 7 April to 14 April 2022, held at Hutan Kota by Plataran presenting:
“ZRIKANDI”
Aruna x Denny Wirawan
Dewi Srikandi is a character in the epic Wayang Mahabaratha who is used as a role model that women can become strong and be respected leaders. Apart from being beautiful, brave, strong, intelligent, full of confidence, and having broad insight, Dewi Srikandi has a gentle, motherly, and expressive nature.
Aruna is a 15-25-year-old porcelain girl who excels in many ways. She is also known as an urban girl who is smart, expressive, and fashionable. Brave and fearless, outspoken, not afraid to take a stand, and put action first are Aruna’s Uniqueness
In this collaboration, Aruna was later known as ‘Z-Generation’s Srikandi ‘ and was given the name, “Zrikandi” with the nickname ‘Z’ (read: Zee) who additionally represented outstanding Indonesian women in the area of sports, arts, health, and others. The ten Aruna dolls wear color block concept clothes that are mixed and matched with some traditional and modern fabrics typical of Denny Wirawan
In conclusion, this collaboration combines several things, including the strength of the character of Dewi Srikandi, the uniqueness of Aruna’s figure created by Putu Arya, the nature and perspective of Z-Generation, and the firm line of Denny Wirawan’s design.
