Nowadays, almost all generations living close to digital gadgets tend not to have the adequate capacity to write well manually without gadgets—including those who choose to work using digital media. In response to the context of that situation, this exhibition aims to vividly recall the most basic technique of visual art: hand drawing.
The four artists present their best drawings and watercolors produced recently, as proof that back-to-basic manual works will always live.
In this current era, almost everyone born into the generation surrounded by digital gadgets lacks the adequate skill to write well manually—including those who choose to work using digital media.
The works in Basic represent what has been lost due to the fast pace of technological development. Artists prove their mettle when they transform simplicity into something with strength. Basic techniques that will always have a role in the artwork production process turn what today is only a sketch, into a full work tomorrow.
